Find A Ride
We provide accessible transportation for all Eskasoni residents. If necessary we can accommodate our elders and those with challenges, our transportation is public anyone can travel with us.
Our door-to-door service is for in-community transportation only and must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance. A driver will pick you up at your door in a 9-passenger wheelchair accessible van and take you where you need to go, whether it be an appointment, a shopping trip, a visit or are looking to get to your designated stop.
We offer a scheduled fixed-route service with designated stops between Eskasoni and communities within CBRM. Our fixed-route service operates on a pre-book basis and all bookings must be completed at least 24 hours before your ride. A driver will stop at the designated bus stops throughout Eskasoni to pick-up/drop-off riders on a 20-passenger accessible bus. This will connect you to other places of interest outside of Eskasoni and is scheduled to make stops within Eskasoni, Sydney and Membertou. It is your responsibility to be waiting at these stops within the scheduled time.
We offer service throughout all of Eskasoni, making transportation more inclusive by connecting you to other communities and networks within Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM).

Do you or a family member have an appointment for your 1st, 2nd or booster vaccination, but need transportation to get to it? We can help get you there and back home, and our services are available for anyone 5 years old and up.

A parent/guardian must accompany young riders up to the age of 16.
Booking a ride, in 3 easy steps:

We have implemented COVID-19 protocols and procedures to protect everyone’s health and safety. Please ask us at the time you book what current policies are in place.
To book a ride call our dispatch at 902.379.3488. All rides must be booked 24 hours ahead please call by 2:30pm at least one day before you wish to use our service for a ride. Please contact the ETS office for further information, to book and pricing. We request clients let us know at booking should they require special assistance as our fleet are equipped with wheelchair accessible rides.
Both services are pre-booked and require at least 24 hours’ notice in advance. All requests must come through the office by phone or email; requests cannot be made to drivers directly to ensure route-planning remains on schedule. We also require payments to be made in advance of riding.
To book our services please use one of the following methods.
8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday – Friday
9:00am to 2:30pm, Monday – Friday
Please note we need at least 24 hours advance notice for booking.
You can book your ride the day before or up to 2 weeks in advance. The sooner you book a trip, then you are more likely to secure your seat as we have more time we have to accommodate your request. If emailing your request, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we contact you back.

- Please be ready when the driver arrives to pick you up.
- All drive requests MUST be made and scheduled more than 24 hours in advance during office hours. Bookings are on a first-come first-serve basis.
- Cancellations must be made at least one hour prior to the scheduled pick up time, otherwise full trip fare will be charged.
- Drivers will pick you up and drop you off at designated stops. Please let the office know if you need to make any changes.
- Seatbelts must be worn at all times. If a client does not wear their seatbelt during transport, any seatbelt fines are the responsibility of the client or their caregiver/guardian.
- All trips are to be paid in full before boarding any ETS vehicle.
- Any client requiring an attendant must travel in the vehicle with the client for all medical or other one-time appointments. Attendants travel for free!
- Eskasoni Transit has a No-Smoking policy in all vehicles.
- Remember No Scents is Good Sense!
- Eskasoni Transit operates in a climate of courtesy and mutual respect. Please be polite and courteous at all times.
We accept payments by cash or e-transfer. And all bookings are not 100% confirmed until payment has been made and staff has notified you.
Need to cancel a trip?
Please contact our dispatcher as soon as possible. Service may be cancelled or rescheduled by phone or in person before a driver is dispatched. If you have not cancelled the trip prior to the driver arriving at your location, you will be charged the full fare for the trip.
Children under 10 years old cannot travel unattended, and passengers 12-14 years old require parental consent to ride unattended.
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian travelling with the child to provide and install/uninstall car seats if required.
Attendants always ride free!
Just let our dispatcher know at the time of booking. Our drivers are happy to hold doors, assist with packages and provide a steadying arm, but passengers requiring additional assistance require a personal attendant to provide the additional assistance they may require.
Winter Weather Policy
ETS will decide based on weather forecasts, travel conditions and the advice of our drivers if and when we should cancel service. Our priority is getting our passengers to their destinations safely.
If you feel unsafe and choose not to travel, please provide us with as much notice as possible to save the driver from travelling for no reason and incurring a charge.
